The Northern Sabah Mission Children’s Ministries Department hosted its first Children’s Sabbath School Teachers Convention on 2–3 April 2026 at AB Grand Hall, Kota Marudu, with the theme “Called to Disciple.” The convention, which was attended by 220 Children’s Sabbath School teachers, aimed to empower, train, and motivate teachers across Northern Sabah Mission for more effective ministry among children.

The program began on 2 April with an Appreciation Dinner in honor of CSS teachers, followed by a one-day enrichment seminar on 3 April featuring sessions on Children’s Sabbath School Classroom Management, Involving Children in Mission, Ministering to Children in the Digital Era, and GTMI for Kids. Resource speakers included Puan Faridah Lausin, Director for Children’s Ministries, MAUM; Pastor Earie Madius, Communications Director, NSM; and Elder Octavius Guling, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director, NSM.

“Teaching the Children’s Sabbath School class has always been a blessing to me. Thank you for appreciating us,” shared Datuk Anita Baranting, a veteran teacher with over 40 years of service. Another attendee, Florynie Tonny of Pinatau SDA Church, who has only recently begun teaching Children’s Sabbath School, said, “Thank you for the skills we have learned from this seminar. It has motivated me to serve faithfully as a Sabbath School teacher.”

The convention marked an important milestone for Northern Sabah Mission Children’s Ministries as it continues to strengthen and equip teachers for effective ministry among children.
